Sorry if the title scared you, but it has its own purpose. In a another article, I talked about how extreme and dangerous skateboarding is (Skateboarding is Extreme). It is true. Skateboarding can give you unwanted accidents in the streets: scratch and bruises (are just minor accidents), broken bones, torn ligaments, and even death. This is why this particular article is dedicated to prepare you to the dangers and hazards of skateboarding.
One good reminder, even though we know how silly or ugly you would look like if you wear a helmet, you have to wear one. You'll never know, when you are in the street, when a slight miscalculation in a trick or a turn you make might cause you to be thrown off balance and hit your head on the floor, a wall, or a vehicle even.
Remember, you are only human. There are no spare parts out there where you can buy to replace your skull. Even if you say you train hard and mastered all the moves, a small pebble can spell your tragic off balance.
Wear protective gears like wrist bands, knee pads, shin guards, elbow pads, etc.. These will not guarantee your safety but at least will lighten the physical damage you would get if you have an accident. Let's say you had a serious fall. Instead of totally breaking your arm, because of the cushion of your protective pads, you just incurred a bruise.
And finally, train. Agility and flexibility are the top most traits that you need in skateboarding. Train for them even before trying your board in the streets.
